Marguerite Willis released the following statement as students across the nation “walk out” to protest gun violence:
“Courage, compassion and resolve comes in all ages. Today, millions of brave, loving and determined students are telling their cities, their states and this nation that we must stop the killing of innocent school children and other victims of senseless gun violence. And “a little child will lead them” —and all of us—toward a safer, kinder and braver future.”
Following the Parkland shooting, Marguerite Willis proposed the following solutions to address gun violence:
  • Universal background checks
  • An end to the “Charleston” loophole
  • Banning bump stocks
  • An assault weapons ban
  • Raising the age to purchase firearms to 21, except those used for hunting
